Should You Schedule Time Alone on Your Wedding Day?

This is a strong yes.

Wedding days are incredible, but they are also busy. From the moment the day begins, you are usually surrounded by friends, family, vendors, and a full schedule of events.

Because of that, there are surprisingly few moments where it is just the two of you.

That is why intentionally scheduling a little time alone can be so valuable. Even just a few minutes together—after the ceremony, before cocktail hour, or during the reception—can give you a chance to slow down and really take in the moment.

It might be a quiet pause where you look at each other and say, “We did it.” Or a moment where you simply step away from the crowd and soak in the fact that it is finally your wedding day.

Sometimes couples get a version of this during a first look. Those moments are often very private, and photographers usually step back to allow the couple to experience that time without interruption.

However it happens, having a small moment together during the day can become one of the most meaningful memories of the entire wedding.
