Is Six Hours of Wedding Photography Enough?
A lot of couples ask whether six hours of wedding photography coverage is enough.
For most weddings, my honest answer is no.
If you’re planning a smaller or more intimate wedding, six hours can absolutely work. But for the majority of couples, I usually find that eight to ten hours is a much better fit.
The biggest reason is not just coverage — it’s how the day feels.
When there’s enough time built in, the day feels more relaxed. We don’t have to rush through portraits, worry if things run a little late, or feel stressed trying to squeeze too many important moments into too small of a window.
That’s why eight hours is often a great middle ground. If ten feels like more than you need, eight hours is usually enough to cover a full, meaningful portion of the day without feeling overly tight.
That said, for many of the couples I work with, ten hours ends up being the best option because it allows us to capture the day from beginning to end while giving you room to actually enjoy it.
When choosing coverage, it really comes down to whether you want the day to feel rushed or relaxed. In most cases, a little more time goes a long way.
