Do You Need a Detailed Timeline or Just a Rough Plan?
A detailed wedding timeline is almost always the better option.
That does not mean planning every minute of the day down to the second, but it does mean accounting for the moments that take real time and can easily get overlooked.
For example, getting ready might sound simple on paper, but what if you are also exchanging letters, doing a first look with a parent, or taking extra portraits with your bridal party? Those are meaningful moments, but they need to be built into the timeline.
That is why a rough plan is often not enough.
When the timeline is detailed in the right way, the day feels more relaxed because you are not scrambling to fit things in or worrying that one meaningful moment is making everything else run behind.
A good timeline should create structure without making the day feel rigid. The goal is not to over-plan. The goal is to make sure the day flows smoothly so you can actually enjoy it.
